Engineering HUB

Standardised delivery inside your existing Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Online environment

Engineering HUB gives your organisation one clear place for the latest approved way of working.

It brings together procedures, templates, checklists, guidance pages, and shared registers so teams can work in a more consistent and repeatable way.

Instead of searching across shared drives, personal folders, emails, and disconnected project spaces, teams can find the right method, the right template, and the right supporting guidance in one clear structure.

It runs inside your existing Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Online environment, using the permissions and controls you already have. No new software. No third-party plugins.

Less confusion. Less rework. More consistent delivery.

What problem it solves

Most organisations already have useful working content. The real problem is that it is spread across too many places and managed in different ways.

Procedures may sit in shared drives. Templates may sit in personal folders. Checklists may sit in project areas. Guidance may sit in emails or old SharePoint pages.

This creates version confusion, inconsistent checks, unclear ownership, repeated mistakes, and wasted time searching for the right information.

Engineering HUB solves this by bringing approved working content into one clear structure that is easier to find, easier to reuse, and easier to improve over time.

What Engineering HUB includes

Engineering HUB is the internal playbook that helps teams deliver work in a more consistent way.

  • procedures and ways of working
  • templates and checklists
  • QA / QC and readiness content
  • guidance pages and reference examples
  • shared registers such as standards, decisions, lessons learned, approved software and tools, and content feedback
  • clear ownership, version control, and optional approval workflows

This gives teams one agreed source of truth for internal working content.

Clear boundary: Engineering HUB is not the Project CDE

Engineering HUB does not replace the Project CDE.

Issued deliverables, formal client submissions, models, records, and contractual documents remain in the Project CDE.

Engineering HUB governs the internal playbook: how your teams work, what content they use, and how that content is controlled and improved over time.

Optional planning layer

Where useful, Engineering HUB can also connect to Microsoft Planner.

This allows standard plan templates to be copied for each project, with key tasks linked directly to the relevant procedure, checklist, template, or guidance page.

This planning layer is optional. Engineering HUB works without it.

Start with one priority area

Engineering HUB does not need to begin as a large programme.

Most organisations start with one priority area first, prove value quickly, and then expand step by step using the same foundation.

Engineering HUB is modular. It can start with one priority area and expand over time across DC Design, Delivery & Commissioning, PMO / Project Controls, Quality & HSE, Operations & Asset, Registers, and Procurement & Contracts.

The right starting point depends on the most immediate business need. A common starting point is DC Design HUB, but organisations may also begin with Delivery & Commissioning, PMO / Project Controls, Quality & HSE, Operations & Asset, Registers, or Procurement & Contracts.

Why this matters

  • find the right approved content faster
  • work in a more consistent way
  • reduce duplicate copies and local versions
  • improve ownership and traceability
  • onboard new team members more easily
  • turn delivery experience into controlled improvement over time
The result: stronger delivery control and a more repeatable way of working without introducing new software.
